$120.00
About the artist:
Louise Ju-Yu Wu was born and raised in Taiwan, and immigrated to Canada in 1996. She attended the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1997 and graduated with a BFA major in Fine Art in 2000. Besides being a practicing artist, she was an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and served on the executive committee of the Maple Ridge Art Gallery in Canada during 2004 to 2006. Wu has received her MFA degree at the Radford University Art Department in the United States in 2008.
Ms. Wu’s practice focuses on oil painting. To Wu painting is a language capable of communicating meaning, and of philosophical examination. Her work deals with some key fundamental concepts of existence and substance, and such an inquiry leads to what she believes is the ultimate underlying true-beauty. Through painting, spectators confront these in a sensory and aesthetical experience both as viewer and creator. Her work explores some possibilities where metaphysical ideas can be experienced and manifested in the imagery that exists between deconstruction and re-creation.
